Keep the beat through a rest
Find the silent beat, echo a short rhythm, then use missed and extra taps to choose your next try.
For players who add a note in a rest or rush the next entry.
Before you start
Count 1, 2, 3, 4 at an even pace. A silent beat still takes a full beat. Keep counting while your tapping hand stays still.
Each step has 2 guided questions, 8 independent questions and 2 transfer questions. Complete one step at a time; return here when you are ready for the next. Results stay in this browser.
STEP 1
Locate the quiet beat
Listen to a bar and choose the strip with its rest on beat 2 or beat 3. Count all four beats before answering.
After this step: If the rest location is unclear, replay and follow the outlined rest in the feedback before starting the echo.
Practice step 1STEP 2
Echo with a silent beat
Practice four steady notes and a bar with beat 2 silent. After the count-in, tap only the note attacks.
After this step: For an error, choose Try this rhythm again for a slower extra attempt. Your first answer stays intact. Count the silent beat aloud before tapping the next note.
Practice step 2STEP 3
Change the pattern
Try rests alongside a divided first beat at 80 BPM. Listen again on every question; the pattern may change.
After this step: Use the first independent score to decide: at 80% or higher, try Rest and Re-enter from the rhythm path. Below that, return to the error type you wrote down. The threshold is a practice suggestion.
Practice step 3Use the feedback
Read the per-beat feedback after each echo. An extra tap in a rest calls for a silent hand; a missed entry calls for counting through the gap. Only a consistent shift across the bar suggests moving your whole response earlier or later.
Keep a useful record
Record the first independent score, the location of a missed or extra tap, and any slower retry separately. Timing on speakers or Bluetooth may include device delay; use the trainer calibration when needed.
